Acquisition completed in Q4, expanding AI-based, cloud-centric cybersecurity business in earnest.

Mitsubishi Electric is expanding its AI-based, cloud-centric cybersecurity business through the acquisition of Nozomi Networks.

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Nozomi Networks, a global leader in industrial cybersecurity.

Through this acquisition, Mitsubishi Electric plans to strengthen its operational technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems (CPS) security capabilities and actively expand its AI-based, cloud-centric cybersecurity business.

Nozomi Networks, a company specializing in protecting critical infrastructure and industrial organizations worldwide from cyber threats and operational disruptions, will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric through this acquisition and will operate independently.

The brand, leadership, team, and operations will remain intact, and existing support systems for customers and partners will remain unchanged.

Mitsubishi Electric participated in Nozomi's $100 million Series E investment round in 2024, and the two companies have since collaborated on technological innovation and market expansion.

This acquisition is an extension of that collaboration, and is a strategy to maximize the synergy between the two companies and jointly design the future of industrial security.

The two companies presented a joint vision to realize more effective cyber defense and improved operational efficiency by combining the massive data generated in OT/IoT environments with AI.

In particular, the combination of Nozomi's AI/ML-based security platform and Mitsubishi Electric's 100 years of industrial expertise will enable us to provide even more powerful security solutions to global customers. It is expected to happen.

“Becoming part of Mitsubishi Electric will enable us to drive the next generation of industrial security innovation and deliver additional value to our customers,” said Edgar Capdebiel, CEO of Nozomi Networks.

Co-founder Andrea Carcano emphasized, “By combining our technological capabilities and global networks, we will make the world’s critical infrastructure safer and more resilient.”

The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, and Nozomi plans to continue its global operations centered around its San Francisco headquarters and its research and development center in Mendrisio, Switzerland.
