SKT will officially announce the launch of AI CIC (Company in Company) through a company-wide town hall meeting on the 25th, accelerating AI-centered management innovation.
This reorganization is a strategic move to seize the "AI golden time" in the rapidly changing AI environment and foster AI CIC as a core organization leading the AI business of the entire SK Group, including SKT.
CEO Yoo Young-sang stated, “AI is at a turning point where both crisis and opportunity coexist, and both demand-centric internal innovation and supplier-centric business innovation are necessary simultaneously.” He added, “To this end, we are launching the AI CIC, an elite organization that integrates company-wide AI capabilities.”
AI CIC is △A. Service △A. Biz △ Biz) △ AI Data Center (AI DC) △ Global AI partnership and investment △ AI R&D △ Messaging and authentication business, etc. We plan to maximize productivity and efficiency by integrating existing AI-related functions and organizations.
CIC's representative will be directly held by CEO Yoo Young-sang, and the detailed organizational restructuring will be implemented at the end of October.
SKT plans to invest approximately 5 trillion won in AI over the next five years and aims to achieve annual sales of over 5 trillion won by 2030.
To this end, we plan to establish a virtuous cycle between B2C/B2B demand and AI infrastructure supply to secure a viable revenue model.
'AI B2C' will expand its domestic and international subscriber base centered around Adot, while 'AI B2B' will focus on improving productivity and securing manufacturing AI references using Adot Biz.
'AI DC' plans to establish itself as Korea's top AI data center operator by attracting global big tech companies and leading government projects.
SKT will also strengthen its role as an "AI platform" that supports the technology and operations of the entire group by integrating distributed AI technology assets, and is also pursuing a strategy to secure a flexible "AI model" that can respond to diverse industrial, government, and private demands.
We are also pursuing expansion of global partnerships based on R&D and AI full-stack capabilities in future growth areas such as digital twins and robotics.
In terms of internal innovation, SKT plans to strengthen its AI competitiveness across the organization by deploying AI-capable talent throughout the organization and increase productivity through AI-based work innovation.

CEO Yoo Young-sang emphasized, “SKT has achieved results such as securing 10 million Adot subscribers, selecting an independent foundation model, and launching the Ulsan AI DC through its transformation into an AI company over the past three years.” He added, “We will take another leap forward centered around the AI CIC to grow into a global AI company and contribute to the success of the national AI strategy.”
