Native integration of OpenAI's latest models into Agent Bricks

Global data and AI company Databricks has partnered with OpenAI to enable customers using its multi-cloud environment to leverage OpenAI models, including GPT-5, further expanding its influence in the enterprise AI market.

Databricks announced on the 26th a $100 million strategic partnership with OpenAI, natively integrating OpenAI's latest models into its data intelligence platform and flagship AI product, Agent Bricks.

This will allow over 20,000 customers worldwide to directly utilize OpenAI models, including GPT-5, in a multi-cloud environment.

This collaboration is part of Databricks' "Frontier AI" strategy, which empowers enterprises to build, evaluate, and scale high-quality AI applications and agents based on their governance data. Specifically, GPT-5 offers cutting-edge performance across a wide range of areas, including coding, math, writing, and reasoning, and Databricks customers can utilize it as their flagship model.

Developing AI agents presents complex challenges, including data duplication, parallel use of tools, and uncertainty in evaluation methods. To address these challenges, Databricks integrated OpenAI's natural language processing and complex decision-making capabilities into Agentbricks, enabling the easy implementation of secure and accurate AI agents. Another advantage is that it can be used immediately in an environment where corporate data exists without separate settings or data transfer.

Databricks customers are currently leveraging the platform to drive a range of business outcomes, including early disease detection, improved energy efficiency, financial fraud detection, and accelerated application development.

“We are seeing explosive growth in demand for AI applications from enterprises, and this partnership provides an environment where customers can leverage AI securely and at scale on their data,” said Ali Ghodsi, co-founder and CEO of Databricks.

“Enterprise demand for frontier AI is accelerating, and our collaboration with Databricks will enable them to easily deploy high-performance models in a secure environment,” said Brad Lightcap, OpenAI COO.

“The partnership between Databricks and OpenAI provides the opportunity to implement high-quality, scalable, and trustworthy AI agents, which will significantly contribute to optimizing internal operations,” said Greg Ulrich, Chief AI and Data Officer at Mastercard.
