National certification for NPU software accelerates commercialization of on-device AI.
Nota (CEO Myung-soo Chae), an AI optimization and lightweight technology company, has been officially recognized for its technological innovation and industrial value in the field of 'Embedded Software - Software Technology for NPU'.
Nota announced on the 13th that it had received certification as an 'advanced technology product' from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for its AI model automatic optimization platform 'NetsPresso®'.
Nota's Netpresso is a platform that automatically compresses, optimizes, and deploys AI models across a variety of hardware environments. Its applications range from AI semiconductors to IoT devices. It reduces model size by up to 90% while maintaining accuracy, reducing development and operational costs and enabling rapid commercialization.
In particular, the technology that can run large-scale language models (LLMs) even on low-spec devices has recently been introduced, significantly expanding the scope of application of on-device AI to various industrial fields such as manufacturing, home appliances, and IoT.
Nota is strengthening its technological influence across the edge intelligence industry by supplying AI model optimization technology to global semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics, Qualcomm, Renesas, and Sony. This Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy certification is significant in that it means that Netpresso's technological prowess has been recognized by public institutions.
CEO Chae Myeong-su said, “This certification is significant in that it proves that Nota’s AI optimization technology has industrial value even at national standards,” and added, “We will continue to expand on-device AI to various industrial sites based on our technological competitiveness and grow into a leading AI technology company in the global market.”
Meanwhile, Nota has been recognized for its technological prowess at the national level, having been selected as an elite team for the government-led "National AI Representative (Independent AI Foundation Model Development Project)." With its securities report recently approved, Nota is poised for a KOSDAQ listing within the year, building on this momentum to continue its innovation in the global on-device AI market.
