Implementing on-device AI experiences on smartphones without cloud connectivity
Nota (CEO Myung-soo Chae), a company specializing in AI lightweighting and optimization, has created an opportunity to accelerate the popularization of on-device creation AI through collaboration with Samsung Electronics.
Nota announced on the 26th that it has signed a contract to supply its AI model optimization technology to Samsung Electronics' latest application processor (AP), Exynos 2500.
Through this collaboration, Nota will provide core technologies to Samsung Electronics' AI model optimization toolchain, 'Exynos AI Studio', and establish a foundation for implementing advanced on-device generative AI experiences on smartphones without cloud connection.
Exynos AI Studio is a toolchain that helps customers optimize and efficiently run AI models developed by customers on Exynos processors.
The integration of Nota's technology here has significantly improved model optimization efficiency and performance, further enhancing the on-device AI experience running directly on smartphones.
“With the application of Nota’s AI model optimization technology to Exynos AI Studio, the efficiency of on-device AI model development has significantly improved compared to previous models,” said Cho Cheol-min, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile AP S/W Development Team. “We are pleased that the technological collaboration between our two companies has produced good results.”
Nota CEO Chae Myeong-su said, “ The collaboration with Samsung Electronics is a meaningful example of Nota's AI optimization technology being applied to global consumer products and commercialized," he said. "We have implemented high-performance generative AI on-device through the organic combination of AI semiconductors and software."
He then expressed his ambition, saying, “We will continue to lead the expansion of the on-device AI ecosystem together with Samsung Electronics and global partners.”
Since its inception, Nota has attracted strategic investments from major domestic companies such as Samsung, LG, Naver D2SF, and Kakao, demonstrating its technological prowess and growth potential.
This collaboration with Samsung Electronics is considered a significant milestone, demonstrating not only Nota's technological prowess but also its marketability and business viability, as it demonstrates the application of Nota's AI optimization technology to actual commercial products.
In addition, Nota recently officially listed on the KOSDAQ market, demonstrating market expectations and high growth potential.
The secured funds will be strategically invested in business expansion in key global markets such as North America, Europe, and the Middle East, thereby leading the full-scale commercialization of on-device generative AI and further solidifying the company's position as a global AI technology leader.
