New SoC Leverages ConcurrentConnect™ Technology
Qorvo®, a global leader in wireless communications and power solutions, is enabling seamless smart home connectivity with its next-generation Matter solution.
Cobo announced on the 7th that it has launched a new system-on-chip (SoC) solution for smart home devices and is currently sampling it to major customers.
This next-generation IoT solution features Qorvo’s unique ConcurrentConnect™ technology, combining multi-network support for Matter™, Zigbee® and Bluetooth® low energy with superior energy efficiency in a scalable, turnkey solution.
The QPG6200L is the first product based on Qorvo’s new low-power wireless connectivity platform designed to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly evolving smart home environments, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability across multiple wireless standards.
The QPG6200L supports multiple protocols simultaneously on individual channels, delivering superior RF performance and stability for a wide range of consumer IoT applications, including smart lighting, sensors, and home hubs.
The product also leverages built-in security elements and has achieved PSA Level 2 certification to further enhance Internet of Things (IoT) security.
In charge of Kobo's connectivity systems business“The QPG6200L further strengthens Qorvo’s leadership in smart home connectivity,” said Marc Pegulu, General Manager, Qorvo. “Qorvo’s unique ConcurrentConnect technology not only improves device performance across multiple networks, but also eases the transition to Matter, allowing users to enjoy the best of both worlds.”
Qorvo’s QPG6200L redefines multi-standard SoC energy efficiency with an industry-leading sub-1μA sleep current that is 30% lower than competing solutions, making it an ideal choice for low-power applications such as battery-operated sensors and energy harvesting devices. The QPG6200L’s ultra-low power characteristics extend battery life and support more sustainable smart home solutions.
With the global smart home device market continuing to expand, with IDC predicting that global smart home device sales will reach 1.2 billion units by 2028, the QPG6200L is expected to play a key role in supporting the next generation of connected devices. Qorvo provides smart home OEMs with a turnkey solution for Matter over Thread, simplifying the design process while ensuring strong security and performance across the network. PSA Level 2 certification ensures that the QPG6200L solution meets the security standards that protect devices from common software attacks.
QPG6200L SoC samples and development kits are available now, with full production planned for early 2025. More information on ConcurrentConnect technology and Qorvo’s innovative ultra-low-power wireless data communications controllers can be found on Qorvo’s low-power IoT solutions page.
