Providing connectivity and scalability to IoT devices, targeting industrial, automotive, and smart home markets
Mouser Electronics, a global authorized distributor of electronic components, is expanding into the IoT and industrial wireless solutions market by supplying Microchip Technology's PIC32WM-BZ6 multiprotocol module.
The PIC32WM-BZ6 being supplied is a turnkey module featuring a high-density, low-power design that simplifies the development of multi-protocol-based IoT devices and helps shorten time-to-market.
The PIC32WM-BZ6 module is implemented based on Microchip's PIC32CX-BZ6 system-on-chip (SoC) and supports a wide range of major wireless communication protocols, including Bluetooth LE, Thread, and Matter.
In addition, it provides a proprietary smart home mesh networking protocol, enabling flexible application to various fields such as industrial IoT, HVAC, automotive, telematics, and consumer electronics.
This module is equipped with a 128MHz Arm Cortex-M4F processor, 2MB of flash memory, and 512KB of RAM, making it suitable for implementing complex applications and responding to evolving IoT standards.
In addition, it is possible to implement advanced user interfaces including analog peripherals for motor control and touch and graphic functions.
Integrated pre-certified RF front end, antenna, and passive componentsAnother feature is that it significantly reduces design complexity.
In terms of security, the PIC32WM-BZ6 also provides various hardware security features, including immutable Root of Trust (RoT)-based secure boot, AES, SHA, RSA, ECC encryption accelerators, and TRNG.
High reliability has been secured by obtaining AEC-Q100 Grade 1 (125℃) certification for automotive and industrial environments.
Mouser also supplies the EV31U42A PIC32-BZ6 Curiosity board for developers. This board features fully connected signals, enabling rapid prototyping, and integrates with the MPLAB Harmony v3 software framework to enhance development efficiency.
Functionality expansion is also easy through two MikroBUS sockets.
A Mouser official stated, “Through the supply of the PIC32WM-BZ6, we plan to actively respond to the needs of developers and enterprises seeking low-power, high-performance IoT solutions and strengthen our competitiveness in the next-generation connected device market.”
