Targeting local AI development and enterprise workstations
AMD has expanded its AI PC product line by unveiling a local AI development platform capable of running large-scale AI models in a PC environment, along with enterprise AI PC processors.

On the 21st, AMD revealed pre-order and pricing information for the Ryzen AI Halo developer platform and announced the Ryzen AI Max Pro 400 series processors for commercial AI PCs. Further details are scheduled to be revealed at Computex 2026.

The Ryzen AI Halo Developer Platform is designed for local AI development environments. It supports up to 128GB of integrated memory and runs AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. The product will be exclusively available through the U.S. distributor Micro Center, with pre-orders starting in June 2026. The starting price is $3,999.

The Ryzen AI Max Pro 400 series, announced alongside it, targets the enterprise AI PC and workstation market. It supports up to 55 NPU TOPS performance and up to 192GB of system memory, and is scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2026 in HP and Lenovo systems.

This announcement aligns with the trend of AI PC competition expanding beyond consumer laptops into developer platforms and enterprise workstations. As the demand for running AI models in local environments increases, internal computing performance and memory capacity are also emerging as key competitive factors.

AMD plans to address the demand for local AI development, enterprise AI PCs, and workstations through this product family. However, actual system performance and scope of application are expected to become clearer following additional information to be unveiled at Computex 2026 and the launch of partner products.
