Lam Research Korea has concluded the preliminary rounds of the 'Lam Research Robo Challenge,' a robotics program for high school students, across five regions nationwide. This is an experiential program designed to foster robotics-based problem-solving capabilities in an industrial environment where AI and intelligent automation technologies are becoming widespread. Lam Research Korea announced on the 22nd that the preliminary rounds of the 'Lam Research Robo Challenge' were held in the order of Northern Gyeonggi, Southern Gyeonggi, Daejeon, Daegu, and Gwangju.

This program is hosted by Lam Research Korea, organized by the social cooperative Seedcorp, and sponsored by the Korea Foundation for Science and Creativity.

Participating students demonstrated engineering thinking skills, creativity, and collaboration capabilities through robot design and mission execution.

At the final event, the Daegu preliminary round, Park Jun-hong, General Manager of Lam Research Korea, delivered a congratulatory speech.

The company stated that through mentoring sessions led by current engineers at Lam Research, participants gained experience in the semiconductor and robotics industries and career information.

Daegu Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee said, “The Robo Challenge program, in which global technology companies like Lam Research participate, is an example of education based on industry-academia collaboration,” adding, “I hope that such experiential programs will be expanded in the future.”

Outstanding participants selected in the preliminary round will advance to the finals in August.

In the finals, regional representatives from across the country will showcase the results of their robotics missions to determine the final winning team, and a special lecture featuring science creator 'Gyedo' will also be held.

CEO Park Jun-hong stated, “In an era where AI and intelligent automation technologies are spreading, it is important for future talents to cultivate an interest in STEM and problem-solving skills from an early age.”

In addition to the Robo Challenge, Lam Research Korea, together with the Korea Semiconductor & Display Society, 'MEMORY Academy'We are operating ' and participating in 'WISET Global Mentoring'.

In addition, in cooperation with the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA) and the Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Advancement (KIAT), it operates semiconductor process design education and a tech academy based on 'Semiverse Solutions' for university students and job seekers, establishing a full-cycle talent development system that extends from high school students to university (graduate) students and job seekers.
