Samsung Electronics Service Repair Engineers Compete in Service Technology and Expertise

The 24th Service Technology Competition was held.
A total of 20 million won in prize money will be awarded to the best performers in 9 categories.

Samsung Electronics Service held the 24th Service Technology Competition to select the best service experts at the Samsung Electronics CS Academy in Suwon on November 21st.

The Service Technology Competition is a technology competition where engineers who repair products compete with each other to demonstrate their service skills and expertise. It is an event held to improve the quality of Samsung Electronics Service's customer service.

A total of 1,700 executives and employees participated in the competition across nine categories, including repair technology competition and service innovation case studies.

The repair technology competition category evaluated how quickly and accurately repair engineers could diagnose and repair problems that occur in actual customer environments. Approximately 1,500 people competed in five categories.

The competition involved approximately 40 people who had passed the regional preliminary rounds with excellent results, competing in the final round in an environment comprised of IoT products such as mobile phones, refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, TVs, and computers, to select the final winner.

The service innovation case category is comprised of four categories in which repair engineers develop and submit equipment used for product inspection and repair, or submit it as a paper.About 200 people participated in the neck.

Ideas adopted in the Service Innovation Case Study are applied to actual service sites to improve the work efficiency of repair engineers and provide higher quality services to customers.

Participants with outstanding performance will be awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals based on their ranking in each category, along with a total prize money of 20 million won. The top performers among the competition winners will be selected separately and awarded the Minister of Employment and Labor Award and the Korea Association of International Skills Olympics President Award.

Meanwhile, this competition was held for the first time since the special recruitment of approximately 7,400 employees from partner companies in January, and was sponsored by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Industry.
