Increase in replacement with high-spec PCs due to increased demand for non-contact
New AMD CPU launch expected to continue to increase in the second half

The spread of the untact culture has also broken through the off-season of the assembled PC market.

Danawa announced on the 7th that PC specialty shopping mall 'Shop Danawa' recorded 146,000 units of assembled PC sales in the first half of 2020, a 29% increase compared to the same period in 2019.

Danawa analyzed that demand has skyrocketed due to the spread of the non-contact culture caused by the COVID-19 situation. This means that in the first half of the year, outdoor activities decreased, demand for games increased, and replacement demand for existing PCs to high-spec PCs occurred.

As PC usage situations such as working from home and online classes increased, we saw many cases of households purchasing new PCs that did not previously have PCs.

This trend continued in the second quarter, which is traditionally an off-season. According to Danawa price comparison data, CPU processor sales in the second quarter of this year increased by 29% compared to the same period in 2019, driven by untact demand and the launch of Intel’s 10th-generation processor.

Danawa predicted that the high sales trend will continue in the second half of the year due to the launch of AMD's new Ryzen processor and the high popularity of PCs for broadcast editing and gaming.
