"We will distribute 1 billion 'ambient' AI devices within 3 years."

Samsung Electronics unveiled its 'AI Home' vision and innovative products at the IFA 2025 press conference, Europe's largest home appliance exhibition, held at the 'City Cube Berlin' in Berlin, Germany on the 4th.

The event was attended by approximately 800 media and partners from around the world, showing keen interest in Samsung's AI strategy.

Samsung Electronics defined AI Home as 'Ambient AI' that goes beyond simple smart functions and provides a customized experience by understanding the user's environment and behavior in real time.

The key is to detect various factors such as temperature, light, sound, and movement and perform situational suggestions and actions without user intervention.

Kim Chul-ki, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' DA Business Division, who was in charge of the announcement, emphasized, "Within the next three years, 1 billion Samsung AI devices will be spread to homes around the world," and "AI homes are no longer a thing of the future; they are becoming a part of our lives now."

Samsung AI Home is structured around four core experiences: ease and convenience (Ease), health and safety (Care), time and energy efficiency (Save), and strong security (Secure).

For example, in the morning, the weather and schedule are automatically provided through the "Now Brief" app on your Galaxy smartphone, and the air conditioning and lighting operate according to your habits. When you leave the house, energy usage is minimized and security mode is automatically activated.

The 'Family Care' feature sends a notification when it detects an abnormality in your parents' home appliance usage patterns, and 'Pet Care' carefully looks after the safety and health of family members by detecting the barking of pets and playing soothing content.

Samsung Electronics has optimized AI technology for home appliances, TVs, and mobile devices, categorizing it into Bespoke AI, Vision AI, and Galaxy AI, and unveiled a number of new products equipped with these technologies.

The 2025 robot vacuum cleaner, featuring Bespoke AI, uses high-temperature steam to sterilize mops and uses an RGB camera and IR sensor to recognize and clean liquids, or even avoid them. The "Pop-Out Combo" feature ensures thorough cleaning even in corners, and the integrated hood induction hob maximizes kitchen space utilization.

Vision AI provides content information through natural conversation with the TV and integrates various functions such as real-time translation, AI picture and sound optimization, and generative wallpaper. We are also strengthening collaboration with global AI companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Perplexity.

Galaxy AI connects mobile devices, home appliances, and TVs to complete the AI home ecosystem, providing a user-centric, integrated experience.

Samsung Electronics introduced "SmartThings Pro," a B2B solution designed to extend AI home experiences to commercial spaces and communities. It enhances building operation efficiency through integrated energy management and remote facility maintenance.

Additionally, through the 'modular home solution', we provide a comfortable and safe living environment by integrating AI appliances and HVAC systems linked to solar power and ventilation systems.

Samsung AI Home offers a multi-layered security solution based on Samsung Knox. Knox Matrix uses blockchain technology to detect threats between connected devices, Knox Dashboard visualizes security status, and Knox Vault securely stores sensitive information on hardware chips.
