Real-time biometric data, risk detection, and remote notifications simultaneously enhance worker safety and work efficiency.
Samsung Electronics is working to improve the real-time safety monitoring and work efficiency of industrial workers based on the Galaxy Watch.
Samsung Electronics launched its B2B-only 'SmartThings Pro for Safety' solution utilizing the Galaxy Watch LTE model on the 30th.
This solution combines Samsung Electronics' AI-based commercial space management platform, SmartThings Pro, with the Galaxy Watch7 LTE model to provide safety management features optimized for industrial settings. Supported models will be expanded in the future.
Employees wear Galaxy Watches, and managers can check real-time biometric data such as skin temperature, heart rate, and fall status, as well as ambient temperature and humidity information, through the SmartThings Pro dashboard on a PC or tablet. When a dangerous situation is detected, an emergency notification is immediately sent to surrounding workers and safety managers, enabling a quick response.
Additionally, when workers enter a risk zone designated by the manager, automatic notifications are sent, minimizing potential risks. If workers are trapped in a confined space or directly perceive a dangerous situation, such as a fire, they can press the Galaxy Watch's SOS button to immediately send an alert. Managers can then respond by confirming their location and making a voice call.
Features designed to improve work efficiency are also noteworthy. During heatwaves or heavy rain warnings, employees can be remotely notified via the Galaxy Watch of break recommendations, safety facility inspections, and other notifications. Workers can check safety and health training schedules and facility inspection plans via their watches, while managers can send safety messages via nearby displays.
The SmartThings Pro Safety Management Solution can be utilized in various industrial environments, including construction and production sites, logistics centers, public institutions, private companies, isolation wards, and resorts, and supports continuous improvement of the work environment based on systematic data.
Samsung Electronics B2B Solutions Team Leader Vice President Park Chan-woo said, “We will support smart industrial site safety management with a new solution that combines the Galaxy Watch’s health monitoring technology and SmartThings Pro’s data analysis,” and “We will continue to develop differentiated AI B2B solutions that contribute to protecting worker safety and improving work productivity.”
