Samsung Electronics has set a new standard for mobile security and privacy protection by unveiling its next-generation AI smartphone, the 'Galaxy S26 series.' Moving beyond mere performance competition, the company has clearly established a direction as a 'trusted smartphone,' which is essential in the AI era.

Samsung Electronics unveiled a total of three new products, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+, and S26, at the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2026' event held in San Francisco, USA, on the 25th (local time).

This series is characterized by the popularization of AI capabilities, along with the emphasis on user privacy protection and data security as core values.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first smartphone to feature a 'Privacy Display.' This technology controls the diffusion angle of light emitted from the screen, making it difficult to identify content from the side. This allows users to check financial information or private messages more securely, even in public places such as subways or cafes.

Users can directly configure situations requiring privacy protection, such as entering a PIN or launching specific apps, and a feature to selectively hide notification pop-ups is also provided. Another strength is that the hardware and software are designed to be integrated, so it does not affect the frontal viewing experience.

The AI-based 'call screening' feature also stands out. When a call comes in from an unknown number, the AI handles the conversation on behalf of the user and summarizes the caller's intent and message. Since the AI can identify and block calls suspected of being spam or voice phishing, it is expected to be effective in protecting the elderly and vulnerable groups.

In addition, the machine learning-based 'privacy alert' feature detects in real-time when an app excessively accesses sensitive data, such as location information or contacts, and notifies the user.

The Galaxy S26 series features a multi-layered security system based on Samsung's security platform, Knox. Knox Vault provides hardware-level encrypted storage, while Knox Matrix protects the entire Galaxy ecosystem.

In particular, through the 'Personal Data Engine (PDE)' and 'KEEP' solution for personalized AI functions, sensitive information such as users' schedules and preferences is processed only within the device. Samsung Electronics has also promised seven years of security updates.


AI capabilities have also evolved further. 'Now Nudge' and 'Now Brief' analyze the user's schedule and context to proactively suggest necessary information. It is a method that automatically compares appointments in messages with the schedule or instantly recommends necessary photos.

Users can select and use various AI agents, including Bixby, Gemini, and Perplexity, and the 'Agentic AI' experience, where AI handles multiple steps of tasks on behalf of others, has begun in earnest.

Samsung Electronics' strategy with the Galaxy S26 series is to provide both the convenience of AI technology and a 'safe user environment' simultaneously.

Roh Tae-moon, President of Samsung Electronics' DX Division, emphasized, “As AI becomes more deeply integrated into daily life, trust and security are not a choice, but a necessity.”

The Galaxy S26 series will be released sequentially in over 120 countries worldwide starting March 11, and domestic pre-orders will begin on the 27th. Attention is focused on what changes this new product, which emphasizes a balance of AI and security, will bring to the global smartphone market.

The Galaxy S26 series will be released in four colors: Cobalt Violet, White, Black, and Sky Blue, along with exclusive colors Pink Gold and Silver Shadow, which are available only at Samsung.com and Samsung Gangnam.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra will be released in models with 12GB of memory and 256GB or 512GB of storage, and 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage, priced at 1,797,400 won, 2,050,400 won, and 2,545,400 won, respectively.

The Galaxy S26+ is priced at 1,452,000 won for the model with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage, and 1,705,000 won for the model with 512GB of storage.

The Galaxy S26 is priced at 1,254,000 won for the 12GB memory and 256GB storage model, and 1,507,000 won for the 512GB storage model.
