Launch of a value-for-money model featuring Clean View… Expanded application of advanced features
LG Electronics has expanded its 2026 Whisen Vue lineup, emphasizing the convenience of air conditioner maintenance. The key feature of this launch is the expansion of functionality, previously centered on premium products, to a wider range of price points by combining a design that allows users to open the unit for cleaning with AI-based operation functions.
LG Electronics announced on the 19th that it has launched the 'LG Whisen AI Objet Collection Vue I'. This new product is a value-oriented model designed to expand the range of options for the popular Whisen Vue series. The Whisen Vue series has established itself in the market since its initial launch in 2024, and sales volume last year increased by 86% compared to the previous year. The company explained that it accounted for approximately half of LG Electronics' stand-alone air conditioner sales during the same period.
The key feature of the product is the 'Clean View' function. This feature is designed to allow users to open the front panel and clean the interior directly by unscrewing a screw and pressing a button. Amid growing interest in air conditioner internal hygiene, demand is attributed to the ability to easily perform basic cleaning without relying solely on separate services.
This new product also features expanded application of functions that were previously mainly applied to the top-tier lineup. The radar sensor analyzes the user's location, space, and usage patterns to adjust the direction and intensity of the airflow, and switches to a gentle breeze when the set temperature is approached. When no one is present in the room, it switches to "Away Mode," which can reduce unnecessary energy consumption by up to 76%. The company explained that the comfortable dehumidification function regulates humidity without excessively lowering the indoor temperature, reducing electricity consumption by 36% compared to conventional powerful dehumidification.
LG Electronics has expanded the Whisen Vue series from five to six models this year and broadened the lineup of the Whisen Cool series, introduced last year, with the 'Whisen Cool Pro,' which features enhanced airflow control capabilities. As a result, consumers can now select products segmented by ease of maintenance, AI operation, dehumidification method, and price range. The price of the Whisen Vue I ranges from 3.35 million to 3.92 million won for the 2-in-1 model, while the Whisen Cool Pro ranges from 2.35 million to 2.87 million won.
This expansion of the lineup demonstrates that competitive factors in the air conditioner market are shifting beyond simple cooling performance to include ease of maintenance, customized operation, and energy efficiency. As features from high-end models are making their way down to budget-friendly products, attention is focused on how quickly AI air conditioners will expand beyond premium demand into the general home appliance market.
