Discussion on changes in AI-based development methods
OpenAI shared the changes AI is bringing to the development field by introducing real-world corporate use cases for its coding agent, 'Codex'. Focusing on Musinsa's adoption case, the event was organized to examine how companies are applying AI to their development workflows.
OpenAI announced on the 30th that it held the event 'Changing the Way We Work with Codex: Musinsa's AI Native Operating System' in Seongdong-gu, Seoul on April 29. The event was attended by approximately 30 influencers in the AI and tech fields, including JoCoding, Heo Seong-beom, choi.openai, and Shin Young-seon's AI Exploration.
Musinsa CTO Jun-hee Jeon attended the main session to explain the background of the Codex adoption and the changes in the development workflow. In a discussion conducted in a fireside chat format, topics such as how the Codex is utilized in the actual development phase and the changes in development speed and productivity since its introduction were discussed.
Musinsa recently evaluated the ability to use Codex during its open recruitment process for new developers. This was introduced as an example demonstrating the trend where the ability to use AI tools connects with a developer's practical skills.
The Q&A session covered the development stages where Codex is primarily utilized, the reasons for selecting Codex among various coding agents, and the potential for changes in the developer's role. Attendees reportedly showed interest in actual corporate application cases and methods for expanding its adoption within organizations.
Codex is OpenAI's coding agent that supports code writing, modification, debugging, and testing based on natural language commands. Recently, its scope of application has expanded beyond a simple assistance tool to directly perform some development tasks.
As interest in related technologies grows following major updates such as GPT-5.5 and ChatGPT Image 2.0, OpenAI plans to continue holding events to share real-world use cases with developers and the technology community.
