Snowflake Cortex AI-based AI Agent Application to Sanofi's R&D and Sales Operations
Snowflake supports the application of AI agents to Sanofi's new drug development and field sales operations. This collaboration focuses on enabling the pharmaceutical company to integrate data dispersed across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial sectors to leverage AI for clinical data analysis and business decision-making.

Snowflake announced on the 9th that Sanofi has launched a new AI agent, "Concierge for Field," based on its AI platform, "Snowflake Cortex AI." This service automatically organizes and provides the information needed by Sanofi sales representatives as they prepare for meetings with medical staff.

Concierge for Field suggests meeting priorities and advance planning based on the doctor's specialty, prescription history, and past contact records. Sales representatives can receive organized content via email when requesting necessary meeting materials, and this is used to shorten preparation work that previously took several hours.

Snowflake provides a data foundation that enables Sanofi to apply AI agents across various business areas, including R&D, procurement, IT, HR, manufacturing, and commercial sectors. In particular, it supports a system that processes real-world clinical data on a large scale to utilize for analysis and decision-making related to new drug development.

Sanofi structured its operational model by integrating data within the Snowflake environment and combining it with the workflows of Elementum, an AI-native enterprise. This approach focuses on running AI directly within the environment where the data is stored, without transferring the data to external systems.

The pharmaceutical industry is seeing a growing trend of utilizing generative and agentic AI for drug candidate discovery, clinical trial design, manufacturing optimization, and sales support. However, a key challenge identified is the need for robust data integration, security, and governance frameworks to be in place for effective application in actual business operations.

This case demonstrates that Snowflake is expanding its AI data cloud into the R&D and commercial operations sectors of the life sciences industry. Through its collaboration with Sanofi, Snowflake is expected to broaden the use cases of data-driven AI in the pharmaceutical and biotech fields.
