Through an academic seminar designed to share the preliminary research applied to the development of its proprietary AI Foundation Model with the public, including students and developers, SK Telecom explained the flow of AI technology researched during the execution of the government-led Proprietary AI Foundation Model Project (Dokpamo) in a way that anyone can understand.

At the first seminar, Professor Seo In-seok of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Seoul National University gave a presentation on the topic of 'Mathematical Artificial Intelligence: The Difference Between Plausibility and Correctness'.
Professor Seo explained what kind of mathematics artificial intelligence performs and how large language models (LLMs) learn mathematics from a mathematician's perspective.
About 200 people, including developers, students, and employees of SK Group companies, attended the event and engaged in Q&A and discussion.
The seminar will be held over a total of three sessions under the theme of 'How AI Thinks, Acts, and Evolves into an Industrial System'.
Professors from Seoul National University served as speakers, representing the research team responsible for advanced research at SKT's elite team.
Following the first session, lectures on artificial intelligence reasoning methods by Professor Yoo Young-jae of the Department of Computer Science and Technology on June 23 and AI model ecosystems by Professor Yoon Sung-ro of the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering on July 1 are scheduled.
Each lecture is also connected to the development of AX K2.
Professor Seo In-seok's lecture covers the process of acquiring AI reasoning capabilities, Professor Yoo Young-jae's lecture covers the foundation of the multimodal capabilities pursued by the elite team, and Professor Yoon Sung-ro's lecture covers how the developed model is linked with industry.
SKT’s elite team announced that it plans to conduct industry-academia collaboration at the consortium level to ensure that AX K2 is equipped with performance suitable for model utilization and industrial expansion, including agent functions such as solving math problems and coding.
