Pre-manufactured and then delivered along with the appliance and solution

Samsung Electronics is entering the single-family modular construction market by launching the 'Samsung AI Modular Home' based on 'AI Home' in collaboration with Space Workshop, a company specializing in wooden modular homes. It is characterized by the fact that AI appliances and solutions are installed together from the prefabricated factory stage, allowing for immediate use upon moving in.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 18th that it opened the 'Samsung AI Modular Home' showroom in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province this month, which was planned and produced jointly with Space Workshop.

The showroom consists of a total of two locations, measuring 330㎡ and 66㎡, in the form of Samsung Electronics’ AI appliances and SmartThings-based AI home solutions applied to Space Creation Studio’s modular wooden houses.

When making an actual purchase, customers can choose from various sizes such as 33㎡, 99㎡, and 132㎡ to suit their lifestyle and the size of the site.

Unlike site-centered construction methods, Space Workshop prefabricates more than 80% of its homes in a factory using AI-based design and automated production systems, then transports them to the site for assembly and installation.

Both companies explained that this modular construction method has effects such as shortened construction time, uniform quality, and reduced construction waste.

The 'Samsung AI Modular Home' is delivered with home appliances and solutions installed and registered during the factory production stage.

Depending on the type and purpose of the space, consumers can choose from AI home appliances such as air conditioners, heat pump boilers, refrigerators, and TVs, as well as about 20 types of SmartThings-compatible devices such as smart lighting, home cams, and door cams.

The company stated that users can immediately use AI appliances and solutions upon moving in without the need to purchase appliances separately or register for a home IoT network, thereby reducing the cost and time involved in purchasing and installation.

Samsung Electronics plans to expand the application of AI modular home models from single-family homes to mid-rise buildings of four stories or more, and to implement AI home solutions regardless of the type of housing or building form.

Previously, SamsungLast February, the company signed a business agreement with Yoochang E&C, a company specializing in the production of modular buildings, for the development of multi-unit modular housing, and at 'IFA 2025', it showcased a modular home solution for global B2B in collaboration with Samsung C&T.

“Through collaboration with Space Workshop, we have introduced a modular AI home equipped with AI appliances and solutions from the planning and production stages,” said Yang Hye-soon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ DA Business Division, adding that they would continue to propose residential models that combine modular construction and AI home solutions.
