'LG OLED Hollywood Roadshow' Held in LA, London, and Munich
LG Electronics held a series of roadshows to demonstrate the picture quality of LG OLED TVs to video production professionals in the U.S. and Europe, creating an opportunity for experts, including cinematographers and colorists, to experience the product's image quality firsthand and share opinions from a creator's perspective.
On the 18th, LG Electronics held the 'LG OLED Hollywood Roadshow' in London, UK and Munich, Germany in June, following Los Angeles, USA in May. It has been held annually since 2024, making this the third year.
This event is designed to introduce the features of new products to video production experts in the U.S. and Europe and to gather feedback on improving TV picture quality and the viewing experience.
The Los Angeles event took place at the film production company Picture Shop.
Cinematographer Johanna Coelho of the HBO drama 'The Pitt' and color scientist Joshua Pines, who worked on the films 'Gravity', 'The Revenant', and the 'Star Wars' series, were among those in attendance.
The European event was held at the Strand Palace Hotel in London and the Munich studio of film equipment company ARRI, and OTT services such as Disney+ and Apple TV+ A colorist responsible for the content's color work and a video expert collaborated.
Cinematographer Coelho said, “LG OLED TVs accurately express black and contrast even in bright environments and reduce screen reflections, delivering the colors and depth intended by the creator.”
Fines, a color scientist, evaluated, “LG OLED demonstrated color reproduction capabilities comparable to studio reference monitors,” adding, “It naturally expressed even delicate details without banding or noise.”
This year's event centered around the 2026 LG OLED evo AI (model name G6).
The company explained that this product combines the 3rd generation Alpha 11 AI Processor (α11 AI Processor 4K Gen3) with 'Reflection Free Premium' which reduces light reflection.
At the event, a comparative demonstration of picture quality with RGB LED-based LCD TVs and other OLED TVs was presented, along with introductions to color accuracy, HDR, gradation expression, and light reflection suppression performance.
Baek Seon-pil, Head of Display CX, said, “We will further develop the picture quality competitiveness of LG OLED TVs through continuous communication and collaboration with content production experts who rigorously evaluate even the slightest differences in picture quality.”
