12-Antenna Array · Automatic Frequency Switching Supports 24/7 Unmanned Operation of Enterprise Drones
Drone manufacturer DJI has unveiled a wide-area transmission system that extends the communication range of enterprise drones, complementing signal reach limitations to support unmanned operations in industrial settings such as search and rescue, remote inspection, and surveying.
DJI announced on the 18th that it launched the wide-area transmission system 'DJI O4 Ground Station' on the 16th.
This product features a 12-antenna array and automatic frequency band selection, and supports Gateway Mode for connecting to FlightHub 2 and Relay Mode for offline environments.
The company explained that it is compatible with the latest DJI Dock, enterprise drones, and delivery drones.
The O4 Ground Station secures signal penetration and coverage in urban obstacle environments through the output performance of its RF unit, and enhances reception sensitivity by optimizing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
Twelve internal and external antennas supporting horizontal and vertical polarization provide omnidirectional high-gain coverage.
The frequency bands below 2GHz and 2.4GHz, 5.2GHz, and 5.8GHz are automatically switched.Avoids light interference.
DJI stated that in densely populated high-rise areas or wooded zones, the integrated RTK module tracks 19 frequencies from five satellite systems to provide centimeter-level position data.
Gateway Mode connects directly to FlightHub 2 to support low-latency, high-bandwidth video transmission, and can extend coverage up to 30km when using DJI Dock 3.
When used with the Virtual Cockpit, it enables remote drone control and generates a Signal Map that visualizes signal-vulnerable areas using flight data.
When not connected to the drone, it lowers standby power to 7W.
Relay Mode supports operation in mountainous valleys or terrains where radio reception is difficult, based on the D-RTK 3 Relay Fixed Deployment Version function.
The main body has IP67 water and dust resistance, operates from -40°C to +55°C, and meets the EN/IEC 61,643-21 Category C standard.
It features fanless passive cooling and self-recovery functions to automatically resume operation in the event of a power outage or software malfunction.
In environments without a power grid, it integrates with DJI Power solar solutions and can identify information about nearby aircraft by connecting to Remote ID or ADS-B receivers via the MQTT protocol.
