Network security equipment company A10 Networks (NYSE: ATEN) has acquired AI security company TrojAI, securing technology that helps organizations securely protect, test, and comply with regulations for AI applications and agent-based workflows.

A10 Networks announced on the 19th the acquisition of TrojAI, stating that it supports customers in directly managing security policies in all operating environments. The plan is to combine the technologies of both companies to protect AI assets across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

TrojAI provides a two-stage security system that combines pre-deployment verification and real-time protection during operation.

The first step, Red Teaming, tests AI models, agents, and applications in a manner similar to actual attackers to identify vulnerabilities and potential security risks in advance.

The second real-time threat defense continuously monitors and blocks threats such as prompt injection, data leakage, and abuse of privileges that may occur during the operation of AI services.

A10 plans to integrate TrojAI's software-based red teaming and real-time protection into its hardware-based AI firewall.

They explained that this allows for the protection of generative and agentic AI while maintaining existing low latency and high availability.

“AI is changing not only the services enterprises build but also the attack surfaces they must defend against, yet existing security control systems are not designed to protect non-deterministic models and autonomous agents,” said Dhrupad Trivedi, President and CEO of A10 Networks. “The combination of our two companies’ technologies enables customers to adopt AI while meeting data sovereignty requirements.”

Lee Weiner, CEO of TrojAI, stated, “As enterprises and public institutions adopt AI at an unprecedented pace, they face the challenge of innovating securely while maintaining sovereignty over their security infrastructure,” adding, “We are now providing relevant capabilities to A10 customers and partner channels.”

A10 stated that this acquisition will have a significant impact on financial performance in fiscal year 2026. He said that he expects it will not go crazy.
