MCP-based headless architecture direct integration of Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini data protection
Cohesity has directly integrated data protection, recovery, and security intelligence into enterprise AI workflows through AI agents without a separate Cohesity interface.

Cohesity announced Cohesity Maestro on the 22nd. This product supports native access across the Cohesity Data Cloud, including cyber resilience operations, real-time telemetry, autonomous agents, and Cohesity Gaia, an AI-based search and knowledge engine, through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The company explained that it has implemented the industry's first headless cyber resilience architecture that drives data security functions via agents without a separate interface.

Cohesion Maestro is based on the open MCP standard and works with AI platforms already adopted by enterprises, such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Google Gemini, without the need for separate custom integration or dedicated connectors.

Through Maestro, customers can access cyber resilience orchestration, such as data protection policy enforcement and recovery and restoration; real-time security telemetry and operational data provision; Cohesion Gaia, which supports semantic-based search for protected data; and AI agents responsible for conversational reporting and recovery orchestration.

AI agents include Cohesity Copilot and Cohesity RecoveryAgent.

Cohesion Copilot, Recovery Agent, and Cohesion Gaia's MCP support features are currently available.

Companies integrate Maestro into their own AI environments while being subject to the same Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), authentication, and auditing frameworks as with direct access.

The Cohesion Maestro MCP interface and additional agent features are scheduled to be released in the second half of this year.

Sanjay Punen Cohesity CEO Poonen said, “Companies are already working on platforms based on Claude, Gemini, and ChatGPT,” adding, “Cohesity Maestro enables these platforms to directly access Cohesity’s data protection capabilities without a new console or workflow changes.”
