The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is implementing a plan to provide free technology escrow fees for one year to participants of the 'Startup Project for All'. This is a new support measure prepared separately from the one-third fee reduction applied to existing startups, and it focuses on legally protecting results that have developed beyond the idea stage into concrete technical data.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups revealed this information on the 24th and explained that it was inaccurate to report by some media outlets that the measures were merely a re-announcement of existing systems.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups emphasized that while the existing system applies a free first year only to idea escrow, the one-year free support for technology escrow is a newly introduced measure.

Idea escrow is a system that protects concepts at the pre-technical stage, such as business plans and idea proposals.

On the other hand, technology escrow targets tangible technical data owned by a company, such as production and manufacturing methods, source code, and research and development reports.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it has linked technology escrow support, considering that the ideas of participants in the 'Startup Project for All' evolve into concrete technologies during the commercialization process.

They explained that this would enable the presumption of validity regarding the participant's technology to be recognized in the event of future legal disputes.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that, in addition to technology escrow support, it plans to connect participants of the 'Startup for All Project' with expert consultations and legal advisory services related to intellectual property.

The plan is to strengthen participant protection by implementing preventive measures, such as preventing idea theft and taking legal action.
