With the role of network infrastructure growing due to the proliferation of AI-based services, Nokia introduced its AI-RAN, next-generation optical network, and autonomous network strategies to domestic telecommunications and enterprise customers in one place.

Nokia held 'Amplify Korea 2026' in Seoul on the 3rd under the theme of 'Network Innovation Toward an AI Supercycle'.

At the event, network technology directions and global market trends were shared to help telecommunications operators and enterprise customers respond to the AI era.

In his opening remarks, Nokia Korea CEO Taeho Ahn stated that the importance of intelligent and automated networks is growing as the transition to an AI-based economy accelerates.

Hyo-Chan Han, Nokia's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), explained the opportunities that AI-RAN and the cloud and open ecosystem offer to telecommunications operators in the 6G era under the theme of 'The Impact of AI-RAN on the Korean Market'.

Jo Bong-yeol, Product Management Lead at Nokia’s Mobile Infrastructure Business Unit, introduced the flow of the transition to AI-native networks and global trends.

At the event, through a guided demo tour, △AI-RAN demonstrated technologies in four areas: AIOps for IP networks, optical network-based data center interconnect, 50G PON, and agentic AI platform.

The AI-RAN demo showcased how mobile network functions and AI applications operate on shared infrastructure based on cloud-native and AI-native architectures.

The AIOps demo demonstrated how a Network Service Platform (NSP) leverages specialized AI agents to accelerate the response speed to IP transmission network failures and reduce the Mean Time to Recover (MTTR).

The optical network demo introduced low-latency, quantum-safe transmission technology between AI factories, the cloud, and data centers.

In the 50G PON demo, a method for simultaneously operating 1G, 10G, and 50G PON services on a single optical network was presented, along with anomaly detection and intelligent network design capabilities utilizing Altiplano’s agentic AI.

"As the adoption of AI rapidly spreads across industries, the importance of networks as core infrastructure supporting the AI supercycle is growing," said Taeho Ahn, CEO of Nokia Korea. "We are supporting network advancements to enable telecommunications operators, AI and cloud service providers, and companies in mission-critical industries to enhance operational efficiency and support new AI-based applications."

He added, “We will actively support Korea’s digital transformation goals and the realization of next-generation connectivity through continuous innovation across wired and wireless network infrastructure.”
