MV-flow, S-Shearwave Imaging function newly applied Samsung Medison is launching the 'RS85', a premium ultrasound diagnostic device for radiology that significantly improves image performance and usability.
The RS85 is a product with enhanced research functions to fully target large hospitals around the world, and has newly applied MV-Flow and S-Shearwave Imaging functions.
MV-Flow helps identify lesions by showing blood flow in microvascular tissues that could not be measured with conventional Doppler ultrasound examinations.
S-Shearwave Imaging uses ultrasonic shear wave elasticity to quantify the elasticity of human tissues, creating a clinical diagnostic index that improves the accuracy of diagnosing liver cirrhosis and tumors. In addition, it has been significantly upgraded in terms of functionality and usability compared to Samsung's existing model, the RS80A.

In terms of functionality, CEUS+, which diagnoses blood flow or lesions with contrast medium imaging, has expanded the scope of diagnosis from liver and breast to pediatric diagnosis by utilizing various probes, and the S-Fusion function, which can simultaneously compare and analyze ultrasound images with images from other imaging diagnostic devices such as MRI and CT, has also expanded the scope of diagnosis from the liver, kidneys, to the prostate.
In terms of usability, the Monitor Arm has a wider range of joint motion than the existing model, and a touchscreen function that allows for various customized operations has been added, reducing work fatigue of ultrasound examiners and even shortening scan times.
RS85 is available in domestic and international marketsStarting with Russia, it will be introduced sequentially in major regions according to the approval schedule of each country. The product aims to conquer large hospitals with more than 500 beds around the world, and plans to strengthen active research cooperation with domestic and international scholars.
“We expect the RS85 to become Samsung’s flagship product in the radiology field, which requires a high level of performance and research capabilities, with Samsung’s unique product capabilities,” said Song In-sook, executive director in charge of Samsung Medical Equipment product strategy. “This will be an opportunity for Samsung Medison to accelerate its business diversification by achieving high performance in radiology ultrasound diagnostic devices following its ultrasound diagnostic devices.”
