Establishing a global standard compliance and anti-corruption system
Wonik Materials Co., Ltd. (CEO Han Jeong-wook), a company specializing in special gases for semiconductors, has stood out as a model company for ethical management practices by obtaining integrated certification for compliance and anti-corruption management systems.
On the 14th, Wonik Materials received integrated certification for ISO 37301 (Compliance Management System) and ISO 37001 (Anti-Corruption Management System), the global compliance and anti-corruption management system standards, from the Korea Compliance Institute (KCI).
This ISO 37301 certification is a system that institutionalizes ethical management by proactively identifying and managing regulatory compliance risks across the organization, while ISO 37001 certification is a global standard that controls and prevents risks such as bribery and corruption.
The two certifications, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) with 162 participating countries, are considered internationally recognized indicators of corporate responsibility for fair trade and prevention of public corruption.
The Korea Compliance Institute (KCI) awards certification through a rigorous screening process.
The KCI review team focused on Wonik Materials’ internal control, audit, and risk identification procedures, employee education history, and establishment of stakeholder communication channels.all.
As a result of the evaluation, Wonik Materials was evaluated as operating a company-wide compliance management system and anti-corruption management system reasonably and appropriately.
Wonik Materials plans to use this integrated certification acquisition as an opportunity to establish itself as a model company in the semiconductor specialty gas market, not only in terms of technological prowess but also in ethical management.
Regarding this certification, CEO Han Jeong-wook emphasized, “As social expectations regarding the role and responsibility of companies (organizations) continue to rise, the importance of transparent and ethical management is growing significantly.” He added, “We will do our best to become a model company (organization) that practices ethical management through the integrated certification of ISO 37301 and ISO 37001.”
Meanwhile, the semiconductor industry is a field where compliance and anti-corruption risk management are very important due to the nature of the global supply chain and various national regulations.
Wonik Materials' acquisition of ISO certification is evaluated as a representative case of domestic semiconductor material companies meeting global ethical management standards and securing competitiveness.
