NI·Nubicom, Full-scale Industry-Academic Cooperation for Future Industries

Signing MOU with Kongju National University, supporting LabVIEW SW worth 2.8 billion won

National Instruments (NI), a global measurement and automation company, and its domestic distributor, Nubicom, have begun full-scale industry-academic cooperation to foster future industrial and technical personnel.

On the 18th, NI and Nubicom signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Cheonan College of Engineering (Dean Lee Dong-ju) of Kongju National University at the College of Engineering of Kongju National University in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, to strengthen cooperation between academia, industry, and research.

This signing ceremony was attended by many officials including NI Sales Director Jeong Gu-hwan, Nubicom CEO Shin Dong-man, Kongju National University President Lee Dong-ju, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Oh Jong-seok.

This MOU is noteworthy as a strategic cooperation for securing automobile and semiconductor technologies, which have emerged as core areas of future industries, and for fostering excellent talent.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to: △establish a joint research foundation and share results; △train professional manpower through personnel exchange; and △strengthen the diffusion of industrial technology and practical training environment.

Through this agreement, Kongju National University will actively utilize NI and Nubicom products for practice and research, and will also cooperate in technology marketing and the production of wireless handbooks.

NI provides free LabVIEW Academic Volume License (100 copies, 2-year subscription) worth about 2.8 billion won to Kongju National University. We also plan to negotiate discounts for future hardware purchases.

Nubicom will support practical research activities by assigning dedicated engineers to supply NI products and provide technical support.

Professor Oh Jong-seok of Kongju National University said, “We will expand the cutting-edge technology practice environment and strengthen education centered on industrial sites.”

NI Executive Director Jeong Gu-hwan said, “We hope that this donation will contribute to improving students’ practical competitiveness.”

“We will do our best to quickly provide solutions through NI LabVIEW Open Lab and strengthen our education and research capabilities,” said Shin Dong-man, CEO of Nubicom.
