Based on this agreement, the two companies aim to promote digital transformation in related industries and have also decided to participate in the government's ongoing 'Korean New Deal' project.

The core of the agreement is cooperation aimed at developing technology and expertise in the domestic electrical and electronics, logistics, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical fields, such as ▲ utilizing Siemens' digital enterprise solutions and ▲ cooperating on projects to advance product and process design.

Through this agreement, Siemens Digital Industries Korea will provide the Siemens Digital Enterprise Solutions portfolio to Russell to help it achieve complete and comprehensive digitalization.

Russell, a semiconductor equipment and automation facility manufacturer, is pursuing a joint venture with Siemens through its automation division and subsidiary, Russell Robotics. Russell Robotics is carrying out various projects domestically and internationally to develop manufacturing and control systems for autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) within factories.

In the future, based on the know-how and automation solutions of Siemens Digital Industries Korea, the company plans to enter the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) market using standardized AGV forklifts and three-way forklifts in the process logistics, medical, and service industries.

Thomas Schmid, head of Siemens Digital Industries Korea, expressed his expectations, saying, “Through this collaboration, Siemens’ products and solutions will accelerate the digital transformation of Korean industries.”

Russell CEO Kwon Soon-wook expressed his ambition, saying, “We will advance into overseas markets using products and services that utilize Siemens solutions in the future.”
