Wearable Robot Experience Seminar for Senior Exercise Support Staff
Wim B2C product, 1.6kg ultra-light... Provides customized exercise solution with dedicated app
Werobotics and local governments collaborated to introduce the effectiveness of wearable robots that help improve walking exercise for all citizens, and provided an opportunity for all citizens to experience WIM in the era of one robot per person.
Wearable robot startup WIRobotics announced that it held a ‘Senior Exercise Support Personnel Wearable Robot Experience Seminar’ at Cheonan City Hall on the 2nd.
This event was attended by Mayor Park Sang-don of Cheonan City, Cheonan City Senior Citizen Medical Care Integrated Support Pilot Project Promotion Team members, Cheonan City Health Center, Cheonan City senior citizen welfare officials, nursing homes, and day and night care centers, and introduced Wirobotics' walking assistance robot WIM in the conference room on the 3rd floor of Cheonan City Hall.
Werobotics was selected as a future unicorn company 'C-STAR' by Cheonan City in February. 'C-STAR' means a promising company that can become a star among startups through the opportunity (Chance) to challenge startups in Cheonan and network connection (Connect).
After an introduction of Wirobotics, the 2024 CES Innovation Award winner, by Kim Ji-young, Marketing Team Leader at Wirobotics, and a presentation centered on Wim Real use cases, participants wore Wim and experienced uphill and downhill modes depending on the section on a walking trail about 15 minutes away. Senior exercise support officials in Cheonan City said, “With Wim, even those who lack confidence in walking will be able to quickly regain their confidence,” and “It is easy to attach and detach, and the usage mode adjustment is intuitive, so anyone should be able to use it easily.”
The Wim B2C product, released last April, is a wearable robot from Werobotics that provides powerful walking assistance capabilities despite its ultra-light weight of 1.6 kg and compact size that is easy to carry. Once you learn how to put Wim on, you can put it on and take it off in less than 30 seconds. In addition, it collects and analyzes important walking indicators such as the wearer’s muscle strength, balance, and posture based on AI and big data through a dedicated app, diagnoses areas for improvement, and provides customized exercise solutions.
Wirobotics has already conducted a test with the Yeongtong-gu Health Center in Suwon City, and selected elderly participants in their 70s and 80s from among the targets of the visiting health management project last year and conducted an outdoor exercise program at Suwon Maetan Park. According to Wirobotics, as a result of exercising with wearable robot Wim for 8 weeks at Gwanggyo Central Park last year targeting people in their 70s and 80s, the stride of one participant in his or her 70s increased from approximately 52.6 cm before exercise to 58.8 cm after exercise, and his or her walking age improved from 88 years old to 70 years old.
Yoon Joong-gil, head of the Future Strategy Division, said, "This event was held to provide marketing support for Werobotics, which was selected as a future unicorn company, as it launches a new product," and added, "We will continue to pursue various support and collaborations so that companies selected for C-STAR can accelerate their growth."
Meanwhile, Werobotics will open the Werobotics Wim pop-up store at Cheonan-Asan KTX Station for four weeks starting at the end of July.
