Etiphos, “World’s First Shipment, Confirmation of Demand for 5G-V2X Platform”
First SIRIUS, KATECH’s product… Plans to invest in vehicle cybersecurity research ETTIFOS has once again proven its technological prowess with the first shipment of its 5G-V2X platform, SIRIUS, and has also confirmed strong demand for the 5G-V2X platform.
On the 10th, Etiforce held the world's first shipment ceremony for the 5G-V2X platform 'SIRIUS' at its headquarters.
This launch ceremony is an innovative achievement completed after a long period of research and development by Etiphos, and is significant in that a Korean company is leading the way in 5G-V2X technology.
V2X technology is receiving attention as an essential technology for autonomous driving in urban areas as it can transmit sensor, surrounding vehicle, and infrastructure information in real time to cars traveling at high speeds, saving the lives of drivers and pedestrians in situations where it is difficult for people to make intuitive judgments.
SIRIUS, which incorporates Etiforce's cutting-edge technology, is a 5G-V2X sidelink platform specialized for urban autonomous driving, providing high-speed and stable data transmission for vehicle-to-vehicle communication.
The platform enables low-latency times of less than 5ms and high-capacity data transmission for reliable communication between vehicles and infrastructure.
It also supports real-time data sharing between autonomous vehicles, infrastructure, and other vehicles, providing improved safety and efficiency that contributes to improved road safety.
Etiphos, the hiring agent “The first shipment of SIRIUS is a testament to the growing demand for a 5G-V2X platform that meets the global need for low-latency, high-capacity data transmission,” the representative said. “Through this, Etiphos will play a leading role in autonomous driving and road safety.”
The SIRIUS shipped on this day was supplied to the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH), and the product will be used for automotive cybersecurity research utilizing 5G-V2X communication in the ongoing Korea-Czech Republic project SECURE-RIDE (cyber SECURity for cooperative connected automated mobility using C-V2X) starting in 2022.
Meanwhile, Etiphos has revealed that it is receiving a flood of inquiries about purchasing SIRIUS from universities, research institutes, and global automobile companies in Korea, Europe, the United States, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, so Etiphos' role and performance overseas are also noteworthy points.
