Promoting the development of professional human resources in the radio and ICT convergence industry
Cooperation in planning and developing education and training programs and in-service training cooperation projects The Radio Promotion Association of Korea (RAPA) and ICT Polytechnic University have signed a business agreement to develop education and training programs and cooperate in employee education to foster and develop professional manpower in the radio and ICT convergence industry.
On the 13th, RAPA and ICT Polytechnic University signed a business agreement for mutual cooperation in fostering ICT talent through development of ICT field curriculum at the Korea Radio Promotion Association in Mokdong.
This agreement was prepared to foster professionals in the ICT field and to utilize and promote mutual networks amid growing interest in fostering professionals in the radio and ICT convergence industries.
The two organizations announced that they would actively engage in exchanges through the following means: △development of education and training programs, △sharing of expert infrastructure, △joint hosting of technical education, seminars, and workshops, △planning of cooperative education projects for employees, △collaboration in discovering and promoting best practices, △exchange of information, and mutual consultation, in order to foster specialized human resources in the ICT field.
Song Jeong-su, Vice Chairman of the Korea Radio Promotion Association, said, “Through this agreement, we will share the educational infrastructure and know-how of ICT Polytechnic University to provide diverse, systematic, and suitable education for more ICT workers. We expect this to be a great opportunity to foster excellent professionals in the relevant industrial field,” he said. “Through the business agreement with ICT Polytechnic University, we will actively communicate to foster and develop professionals working in the radio and ICT convergence industries.”
Yang Hwan-jeong, Dean of ICT Polytechnic College, said, “Through this agreement, we will do our best to play a pivotal role in jointly researching and developing the latest technologies and knowledge in the fields of ICT talent training and application with the Korea Radio Promotion Association, and fostering excellent professionals with high expertise who can contribute to national development.”
RAPA is an organization under the Ministry of Science and ICT that serves as a bridge between the industry and the government and establishes the foundation for the promotion of the radio broadcasting industry in accordance with the Radio Act. Recently, it has been focusing its capabilities on discovering projects for the dissemination of core radio broadcasting technologies and establishment of the foundation in the era of digital transformation.
In particular, the Radio Broadcasting and Communications Education Institute, an affiliated organization of the association, is a key professional training institution that will open the era of radio broadcasting and communications convergence accelerated by the 4th industrial revolution. In addition to radio and information communication education and broadcasting media education, it also supports capacity building for employees of small and medium-sized venture companies and employment of prospective employees through education in new digital transformation knowledge fields such as metaverse, virtual reality, and cloud.
ICT Polytechnic University is the only specialized information and communication education institution in Korea supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT. It provides training for new personnel (industrial bachelor's degree, vocational training) and training to improve the job skills of employees.
In addition, we operate a two-year 'Industrial Bachelor's Degree Program with five departments (△Department of Information and Communication Engineering △Department of Smart Communication Engineering △Department of AI Image Security △Department of IT Convergence △Department of Information Security)' that is equivalent to a regular university course, which goes beyond theories centered on information and communication demanders and teaches practical skills and abilities, and fosters practical professionals required in industrial settings.
especially, We have opened short-term specialized training courses for new technologies and customized training for companies for information and communication engineers and supervisors, government officials, etc., as a qualification certification training course according to the 'Information and Communications Construction Business Act', and are contributing greatly to improving the work ability of employees in the information and communication field by operating training courses that apply field work to employees in the industry and thereby improving their job ability.
In addition, ICT Polytechnic University is a university with strong connections with industry, emphasizing field adaptability and problem-solving skills, providing opportunities to gain practical experience through special cooperation programs with industry, and allowing students to experience challenges and achievements in actual work situations through practice-oriented projects. It is the only ICT specialized university in Korea.
Meanwhile, RAPA Radio Broadcasting and Communications Education Center has been operating 'Training for Specialists Leading the Way in the Radio Utilization Industry' since March of this year, and plans to conduct various training sessions such as RF Basic Theory for HW Engineers (7.18-19), Self-Driving Car Field Tour (7.21), and 5G Mobile Communications Technology and System Design (8.2-3).
