Entegris announced the expansion of its Suwon JangAn facility to strengthen its R&D and manufacturing capabilities for Advanced Deposition Materials (ADM).

This investment will further enhance the R&D capabilities of the Korea Technology Center (KTC) located in Suwon and build a single plant capable of manufacturing from initial product concept to finished product. The total investment in the Jang-an plant expansion is approximately KRW 50 billion (USD 45 million), which is the largest investment in the past five years.

Entegris ultimately aims to make the Changan plant the world’s largest specialty chemicals and engineering materials plant and Asia’s premier ADM manufacturing center, and is expected to ship its first ADM products from the Changan plant by the end of this year.

This investment demonstrates Integris’ continued commitment to the domestic and global ADM markets. The additional resources will enable faster transition from product development to volume production, increased supply stability, shorter lead times, and faster technical support.

“Entegris has proven over the years that our JangAn facility provides operational excellence, rapid technical support and responsiveness, which has resulted in increased customer confidence,” said Stuart Tison, senior vice president of specialty chemicals and engineered materials (SCEM) for Entegris. “According to Linx Research, the semiconductor market, and particularly the deposition precursors market, is expected to maintain double-digit growth rates for the next several years. “With this expansion of our Changan facility, Integris is ready to meet our customers’ growing needs from development through volume manufacturing in a single facility,” said Integris.

In addition to ADM, the Changan plant produces a range of specialty materials, advanced material handling and micro-contamination control solutions. The portfolio also includes specialty gases, formulation chemicals, 3D liners, gas purification systems and specialty coatings. The Changan plant is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and has a gross floor area of 11,000 ^m2 on a site of approximately 26,000 ^m2 .
