Solbrain Secures Mass Production Capacity for 12 Nine Hydrofluoric Acid
12 Nine, 1 trillionth of an inch of impurities remaining
Government to invest 2.1 trillion won in small business sector this year Complete self-sufficiency in high-purity hydrogen fluoride, one of the three items subject to Japanese export controls, is imminent.

Solbrain announced on the 2nd that it has secured the ability to mass produce high-purity hydrogen fluoride (12 Nine).
12 Nine (99.999999999%) means that there are only one trillionth of an impurity left. This is a level that can be supplied to semiconductor companies that require relatively high purity compared to displays.
Before Japan's export restrictions, domestic semiconductor and display companies mainly used high-purity hydrogen fluoride from Japan. Then, Solbrain expanded its production volume by building new facilities and began supplying a significant portion of the domestic demand for high-purity hydrogen fluoride, securing domestic supply stability.

On this day, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Sung Yun-mo visited Solbrain’s Gongju plant and said, “Solbrain’s early expansion of high-purity hydrogen fluoride production capacity is a great achievement,” and “I would like to express my gratitude for the hard work of Solbrain executives and employees who have contributed to the stable supply of high-purity hydrogen fluoride in Korea based on their highly difficult refining technology.”
Kang Byeong-chang, CEO of Solbrain, responded, “The early completion and operation of the new plant was possible thanks to the government’s timely support, including the government’s approval of chemical substances.”
Minister Sung said, “This year, we will build an industrial ecosystem supported by material, component, and equipment companies like Solbrain to realize an industrial powerhouse that will not be shaken by external forces.”
Meanwhile, the government has decided to invest 2.1 trillion won in small and medium-sized enterprises this year, 2.5 times more than last year. Through this, we will strengthen support throughout the entire cycle from development to mass production, including technology development and construction of a mass production test bed centered on 100 key strategic items.
In addition, we plan to foster a group of companies that will lead the global supply chain by expanding the cooperation model between 100 specialized leading companies and demand-supply companies, and provide sufficient funding for production and research activities of small and medium-sized enterprises by establishing investment funds and expanding tax deductions for investment in research and development facilities.
