ROHM Unveils BR24H-5AC Series EEPROM Series
Provides 3.5ms write speed, guarantees 4 million rewrites

To ensure the safety of industrial and automotive equipment and manage production history, there is a growing demand to record and preserve system operation history in nonvolatile memory within the system.

On the 24th, ROHM developed the 'BR24H-5AC series', an EEPROM compatible with I2C BUS 125℃ operation that can stably write and store data even in harsh environments.

EEPROM can write and store data more reliably than flash memory in harsh environments. It is used in applications that require high reliability, such as cameras, airbags, FA devices, and servers in the industrial and automotive equipment fields.

The BR24H-5AC series can write at a speed of 3.5ms (milliseconds). ROHM stated, “In the electronic device manufacturing process, when writing 256Kbit (kilobits) of initial data 512 times for 100,000 devices, adopting the new product can shorten the factory line occupancy time by approximately one day compared to adopting a general product (5ms).”

Additionally, it guarantees a rewrite count of 4 million times, extending the life of the device and making it suitable for status recording applications where data rewriting occurs frequently.

The series began sequential mass production in October of last year with a monthly production capacity of 1 million units. The sample price is 200 yen (excluding tax) per unit, and can be purchased starting from 1 unit at online component distribution sites such as Chip 1 Stop and Corestaff.
