V20 and G5 are also expected to receive Oreo upgrades

LG Electronics will upgrade the operating system (OS) of the LG G6 to Android 8.0 'Oreo' starting on the 30th.

LG Electronics was the first domestic smartphone manufacturer to provide the 'Oreo' upgrade through the LG V30 last December, and based on the technology and know-how accumulated through this, it is expanding the stable latest OS upgrade to the LG G6.

This upgrade is the first step of the 'Software Upgrade Center' that was fully operational in March to provide quick and systematic smartphone customer care. This center is operated as a permanent organization to provide stable and continuous support for irregular OS upgrades. Following the LG G6, the Oreo upgrade for the LG V20 and LG G5 released in 2016 is also scheduled to be carried out.

Upgrades are possible both wirelessly and wired. LG G6 users can upgrade wirelessly when they receive a software update notification on their smartphone, or they can upgrade through the 'LG Bridge' program after connecting to a PC. 'LG Bridge' can be installed from the mobile phone download center on the LG Electronics website.

Android 8.0 'Oreo' has improved overall basic performance such as speed, battery life, screen composition, and graphics. You can enjoy various convenient features such as the addition of the PIP (Picture In Picture) function that allows you to continue watching the video on a small screen even when you launch another app while watching the video, and support for high-resolution sound source LDAC that minimizes sound loss.

Following this OS upgrade, LG Electronics plans to add new features such as 'Empathetic AI', which was introduced in the LG V30S ThinQ, to the LG G6 in the future.
