PTC Korea and smart factory solution specialist MIT Co., Ltd. (CEO Byung-soo Min) have joined hands to develop smart factory solutions.

PTC Korea announced on the 6th that it signed an MOU with MIT to develop an XR-based integrated platform solution for remote diagnosis and control of industrial facilities, safety management, and facility maintenance.

MIT is a specialized company that provides intelligent solutions for smart manufacturing innovation to various customer groups in the shipbuilding, petroleum, chemical, plant, and construction machinery industries.

Through this collaboration, MIT plans to develop an XR platform tailored to the manufacturing characteristics of each industry based on PTC's IIoT platform 'ThingWorx' and AR solution 'Vuforia', and to cooperate in joint sales and marketing to discover new use cases.

The XR-based integrated solution that integrates the expertise of both companies supports: △Manufacturing Performance Management (OEE, OPE), Manufacturing Asset Management (Asset Management), MES+ThingWorx for smart factories; △Remote expert technical support, digital knowledge capture and distribution, digital work instructions and guides for digital work management; △Remote product status monitoring and technical support, remote diagnosis and predictive maintenance through smart product solutions; △Improvement of processes and operations using digital twins and establishment of service twins and digital threads.

PTC's 'Thingworx' is a platform designed to build enterprise-wide industrial IoT solutions, providing various benefits such as optimizing business processes, improving manufacturing management, and modernizing field service delivery. In the Magic Quadrant for IIoT Platforms report published by Gartner, PTC was recognized as a leader with the highest level of vision completeness. Meanwhile, the 'Vuforia' platform for industrial augmented reality is a product that has received excellent evaluations from industry analysts in terms of both the breadth and depth of functions. It supports rapid, easy, and feature-rich AR content development, allowing companies to improve the safety and efficiency of their work environments, reduce costs, and improve customer experiences.
