Analyzing Abdominal and Chest Movements with Radar… Identifying Sleep Apnea and PLMS
Collaboration between 4 hospital sleep study labs… Sleep analysis accuracy and reliability ↑

Bitsensing has introduced a solution that can detect breathing disorders by analyzing breathing patterns that occur during sleep using only radar technology, without using cameras.

From the 7th to the 9th, Bitsensing participated in the 'SleepTech 2023 International Sleep and Health Expo' and exhibited a sleep solution using radar.

The mini-H, an AI wellness radar exhibited by Bitsensing, is an ultra-small radar sensor that is a solution for a smart wellness environment, from presence and movement to sleep quality analysis.

This is a non-contact, ultra-small sensor that is installed on the ceiling or wall to measure the movement of the chest and abdomen during sleep and provide the user with a sleep score through an AI algorithm.

Abdomen and chest It has the unique advantage of being able to identify symptoms such as central sleep apnea through movement, and can also determine periodic limb movement disorder (PLMS), which allows for the prevention of diseases that may pose a threat to health.

A Beatsensing official said that because it uses electromagnetic waves, it is not affected by thick blankets or matrices, and there is no problem with measurements even when sleeping face down.

It has the great advantage of solving privacy issues by using only radar without a camera or microphone, and also complementing the disadvantage of wearable devices that have to be taken off for charging.

Bitsensing's Wellness Radar is implementing a service that enables nursing homes to take immediate action in the event of an emergency through Wi-Fi-based emergency notifications.

A Beatsensing official said, “There are people who unfortunately pass away from phlegm while sleeping at nursing homes,” and added, “We are providing services at nursing homes to prevent such unfortunate situations.”

Beatsensing is conducting research and development in collaboration with four hospital sleep study labs, thereby increasing reliability and accuracy in sleep analysis.

Bitsensing said that it uses 60GHz to differentiate itself from other companies and is currently developing a system that can filter various factors, such as the user's age, to provide customized information.>
