Applying the service model across Dell solutions

Dell Technologies announced Project APEX on the 22nd.

Project Apex is all about applying an as-a-service delivery model across the Dell portfolio. Regardless of where customers run their IT workloads—on-premise, at the edge, or in the public cloud—customers can have a consistent user experience in an “as-a-service” manner across all locations.

The Dell Technologies Cloud Console, the foundation of Project Apex, is provided as an online platform that provides customers with a consistent and integrated experience when adopting cloud and service-type solutions.

Customers can search the marketplace with just a few clicks to order and implement cloud services and solutions-as-a-service. They can also easily run tasks across multiple distributed clouds, monitor costs in real time, and efficiently distribute or add IT resources.

Dell introduced 'Storage as a Service (STaaS)', which will be launched in the first half of next year as part of Project Apex. This STaaS, which provides block and file data services on-premises, has implemented a flexible storage service optimized for operating expense (OPEX) transactions as well as various enterprise functions.

◇ Additional Dell Technologies Cloud and Service Offerings

▲The new instance-based offering of 'Dell Technologies Cloud Platform' is a subscription-based billing model starting at $47 per instance per month. Through this console, you can easily purchase pre-defined and configured cloud resources to expand your hybrid cloud environment. It is scheduled for official release in the first half of next year.

▲'Dell Technologies Cloud PowerProtect for Multi-cloud' is a managed service that effectively protects data and applications on various public clouds connected with low latency from a single destination.

Eliminate egress costs when retrieving data from Microsoft Azure and reduce data protection costs by leveraging the deduplication capabilities of PowerProtect appliances. You can also set this service as a replication target for PowerProtect appliances deployed on-premises for archiving, long-term retention, disaster recovery, and more.

▲The pre-configured ‘Flex On Demand’ billing solution allows you to use only what you need and pay only for the amount you use. With a pre-configured infrastructure that includes hardware, system software, and essential implementation and support services, customers can easily select and implement solutions. Channel partners can receive up to 20% rebate. This charging model is available in many countries, including Korea.
