Companies moving into the industrial complex use logistics resources together
Shared smart logistics platform, by 2022
Built in Gyeonggi Banwol and Sihwa National Industrial Complex LG Uplus, Hanaro TNS, Shinsegae Construction, and Bow Systems announced on the 16th that they were selected as business operators for the 'Gyeonggi Banwol·Sihwa Complex Smart Logistics Platform Construction and Operation Project' hosted by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.

The smart logistics platform is a new concept of logistics system where companies in an industrial complex jointly utilize logistics resources. Unlike the previous system where each company had all the facilities for logistics management, this is a model that increases cost and efficiency by sharing warehouses, unmanned forklifts, logistics robots, etc.
For example, if a company needs to store goods, they can check for empty spaces in a shared warehouse and apply for them using an app. Goods can be automatically transported using shared facilities such as unmanned forklifts and logistics robots. Payments are also automatically settled based on usage.
By 2022, the four companies will build and operate a smart logistics platform in the Gyeonggi Banwol and Sihwa National Industrial Complexes. ▲LG U+ will be in charge of demonstrating a 5G corporate network, unmanned forklifts, and logistics robots ▲Hanaro TNS will be in charge of building and operating a logistics platform ▲Shinsegae Construction will be in charge of implementing a logistics robot supply system ▲Bow System will be in charge of building automated facilities.
The four companies will first prepare all the necessary provisions so that the companies can jointly utilize the logistics resources they have. They will analyze big data on logistics information within the industrial complex, identify idle resources, and provide real-time information. Companies can check the status through the portal or mobile phone, and apply for use as needed.
In addition, from the design stage, we plan to reflect the actual needs of companies utilizing each facility through continuous consulting with companies that are located in the industrial complex, such as Hyundai Synthetic Industry, Frontech, and Daemo Engineering. We will introduce cutting-edge ICT facilities to the aging joint logistics center within the industrial complex and conduct verification tests.
Finally, a supply chain management (SCM) service that digitalizes the entire production and distribution process by linking the resident factories and logistics platforms will be implemented. Newly resident companies can rent and use the shared resources built in the industrial complex without directly introducing or operating facilities to establish a logistics system.
Through this, it is expected that not only will the logistics costs of companies moving into the industrial complex be reduced, but additional income will also be generated through sharing of existing resources. The 'Gyeonggi Banwol-Sihwa Smart Industrial Complex Project Team', which is executing this project with four companies, plans to promote the standardization of the smart logistics platform and expand it to related organizations.
