Siemens Korea (CEO and President Ha-joong Jung), the Korean subsidiary of global electrical and electronics company Siemens, is launching an open digital business platform and is accelerating value creation across the industry, building, grid, and mobility sectors.

Siemens Korea announced on the 5th that the Siemens Group recently launched the open digital business platform 'Siemens Xcelerator'.

Siemens Accelerator offers a curated portfolio of Internet of Things (IoT)-based hardware, software, and digital services from Siemens and certified partners.

It also includes a role as an ever-expanding partner ecosystem, with marketplace features that facilitate interactions and transactions between customers, partners, and developers.

With the launch of Siemens Xcelerator, the entire portfolio spanning hardware and software will undergo a gradual transition to being modular, cloud-connected, and standard API (Application Programming Interface)-based.

Siemens Xcelerator’s first new SaaS solution, Building X, also announced today, is a new smart building suite that removes complexity from digitalization and helps customers achieve their carbon neutrality goals. It is an end-to-end data analytics tool that eliminates data silos in areas such as energy management, security, and building maintenance. Eliminating data silos can make your business more productive, flexible, and sustainable.

BuildingX is a modular, 100% cloud-based, open software suite with AI-enabled applications, robust connectivity, and cybersecurity capabilities.

Prior to this announcement, on June 27, Siemens agreed to acquire Brightly Software, a leading US asset management software company. Accordingly, Brightly's capabilities, which have been firmly established in key industrial fields, and Siemens' building-related digital software know-how are expected to be combined to create synergy as a core element of the building portfolio within the Siemens Xcelerator platform.

In addition, Siemens plans to integrate its Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions into ‘Industrial Operations X.’

This will bring together Siemens’ comprehensive IT/OT integration knowledge and capabilities, a broad range of ready-to-use solutions and applications from sensor to edge to cloud, as well as IoT-as-a-service and low-code development capabilities, to help fuse real-world operational technology (OT) data with digital-world information technology (IT) data.

Siemens is working to expand its robust partner ecosystem with small and medium-sized enterprises and large corporations, building on existing strategic partnerships with Accenture, Atos, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Bentley, Microsoft, and SAP.

Along with this, we signed our first partnership agreement with NVIDIA.

The two companies announced that they are expanding their partnership to realize the industrial metaverse and increase the use of AI-based digital twin technology.

As a first step in collaboration, we plan to connect Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform, and NVIDIA Omniverse, a 3D design and collaboration platform.

We bring the industrial metaverse to life with physics-based digital models from Siemens and highly accurate AI-driven real-time simulations from NVIDIA, enabling enterprises to make faster, more confident decisions.

Roland Busch, Chairman and CEO of Siemens AG, said:“The launch of Mens Xcelerator is the next logical step for Siemens to accelerate innovation and value creation as we implement our digitalization strategy. This will enable our customers and partners to drive productivity, competitiveness and innovation to new levels, and will take collaboration to a new level by combining the strengths of Siemens as a technology company with our partner ecosystem,” he said.
