Dassault Systèmes has unveiled an immersive experience for realizing sustainable future cities in response to increasing urbanization through 3D mapping.

Dassault Systèmes presented its 'Urban Renaissance' campaign for a more sustainable future city with the vision of 'The Only Progress is Human' at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul.

The Urban Renaissance campaign allows you to experience the future city as depicted by Dassault Systèmes through a realistic 3D video mapping video. The video was created by Korean media artist Lee Yeon Kang.

Artist Kang Yi-yeon said, “Geofuture is a work that depicts Seoul’s DDP on a map,” and added, “Inspired by Dassault Systèmes, which designs the cities we live in, it reflects the future of life and cities that seek to achieve sustainable innovation.”

“Future cities must be resilient to be sustainable,” said Victoire de Margerie, Vice President of External Marketing and Communications at Dassault Systèmes, who is in charge of the Urban Renaissance campaign. “With Dassault Systèmes’ virtual twin technology, citizens can enjoy various benefits, and countries can thoroughly verify cities by testing them in the virtual world before implementing them in the real world,” he said. “Through the Urban Renaissance Campaign, we can get a glimpse of how sustainable cities can be realized in the present era of intensifying urbanization. To prove this, we chose the vibrant city of Seoul, South Korea, and collaborated with artist Leeyeon Kang, who is active in various fields, to capture Dassault Systèmes’ vision for the city of the future.” He added that Dassault Systèmes’ vision for a sustainable and healthy future will continue.

A talk show about the Urban Renaissance will be live streamed on LinkedIn, YouTube, and the Dassault Systèmes website at 1:00 a.m. on January 31, 2023.

Visitors can enjoy the artist's monumental work in a media installation at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, as well as a glimpse into a future city designed by Bogdan Zaha of Dassault Systèmes and Zaha Hadid Architects.
