The long-awaited winner of the Creaform Contest, which utilizes 3D technologies such as 3D scanners and 3D printers, will be announced on April 6th.

Creaform will hold a ' Review of the Results of the Reverse Engineering Contest Using 3D Technology ' along with the announcement of the 2023 Creaform Contest Winners on April 6th at 2 PM on the e4ds eewebinar platform.

This event will review the series of processes that Creaform contest participants go through to acquire scan data using a 3D scanner, and then perform reverse engineering, 3D printing, and dimensional inspection using that data.

The Creaform Contest was first launched in 2021 as an event designed to increase understanding of reverse engineering using 3D scanners.

The event is Beyond simply teaching reverse engineering skills to 3D scanner users, we also added missions for 3D printers in addition to 3D scanners, and increased their expertise by outputting reverse engineering results.

A total of 4 teams advanced to the finals this year and competed for the championship. In the Silver category, △Duien G △Zion 3D competed, and in the Peel category, △Chaeun Studio △Obed competed.

Chaeun Studio scanned home appliances and interior items to create metaverse content.

Obed scanned the concept of a portable, camping, silent heater docking cover, with the aim of reverse engineering the silent heater cover and creating a heater cover that could close the space between window frames.

Zion3D scanned a gaming notebook motherboard case and a notebook cooling dock station with the concept of reverse engineering a notebook and cooling fan, and solving the heat generation problem by attaching a cooling fan inside the notebook.

Doienzi scanned the Porter floor console of a 1-ton truck with the concept of reverse engineering the floor console and converting the diesel Porter into an electric truck.

The contest proceeded with the process of scanning, reverse engineering, printing, and dimensional inspection. For printing, the reverse engineering results were submitted as CAD files and printed as prototypes using resin materials.

The work of each participant will be produced as a video and will be covered in detail in the review.

The final winner in each category will serve as an ambassador for each product for one year until 2023, and will then have permanent ownership of the scanner.

The scanner used in the Silver section is the Creaform Old recertified HandySCAN 700 model, and the scanner used in the Peel3 section is the new peel3d peel3 model.
