Universal Robots, the No. 1 collaborative robot company in terms of domestic and international market share, is participating in the Busan International Machinery Show to showcase the Universal Robots ecosystem that suggests the future of the robot industry.

Universal Robots announced on the 10th that it will participate in the 'Busan International Machinery Fair (BUTECH 2023)' held at BEXCO in Busan from May 16th to 19th.

The Busan International Machinery Show, now in its 11th year, is the largest industrial machinery exhibition in Korea, hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Machinery Industry Cooperative, and Busan-Gyeongnam Mold Industry Cooperative, organized by the Korea Industrial Marketing Institute, and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.

This year, the event will be held on the largest scale ever, with 453 companies from 28 countries participating in 1,742 booths under the theme of ‘Fusion of Eco-friendly Manufacturing Innovation and Digital Technology.’

Through its participation in this exhibition, Universal Robots presents various ways to automate the work environment by utilizing collaborative robots regardless of the size of the company or type of business. We demonstrate how collaborative robots can be used in a variety of situations, such as those requiring repeated movement of heavy loads or tasks that require precise repetition.

The exhibition booth will demonstrate screwdriving, machine tending, bean picking, press machines, block processing, and polishing processes using Universal Robots collaborative robots and the UR+ ecosystem.

In addition, Universal Robots' partners, Electrics, HRT, Sungwon, Das, and Samik THK, will participate and demonstrate how they each automated their processes.

According to Universal Robots officials, the partner exhibits are Elektrix (Atlas Copco’s screwdriving application, Youngchang Robotics’ modular machine tending solution), HRT (Bin picking application using Pickit 3D vision), Sungwon (Press machine application using SICK area sensor), DAS (Machine tending using OnRobot’s D.PLOY, Polishing application using RobotiQ’s Sander), and Samik THK (LM block processing automation application).

The Universal Robots e-series collaborative robots that will be used for demonstrations at this exhibition are equipped with models for each payload suitable for each process, and have built-in pressure recognition sensors that stop operating when they come into contact with humans, allowing them to work alongside workers without a separate safety fence.

In addition, the user-friendly interface allows existing employees to learn how to use it in a short period of time, and it can be flexibly installed in various production work sites, so even companies in environments where it is difficult to build new production facilities can easily and safely introduce automation at low cost.

Universal Robots Korea CEO Lee Nae-hyung said, “Collaborative robots, which have the advantage of unique flexibility and safety, are continuously being recognized for their utility and are currently positioned as the core of various industrial automation including manufacturing.” He added, “Through this exhibition, we will always be able to understand the customer’s position.“We will share how to use Universal Robots’ safe and labor-intensive collaborative robots to change the lives of customers and present various use cases that can achieve automation and productivity improvement,” he said.

The exhibition will be held in Halls 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the BEXCO exhibition hall, and Universal Robots will be located at Booth K-01 in Hall 2. For inquiries regarding free invitations, please contact the Universal Robots Korea office (070-8850-8245).
