Utilizing 3D Experience Platform Virtual Twin Technology
Dassault Systèmes' 3D Experience Platform virtual twin technology is used to develop and manufacture low-carbon batteries, contributing to achieving carbon neutrality.
Dassault Systèmes announced on the 7th that it has signed a business agreement with Verkor, a leader in the electric vehicle and stationary battery sectors in Europe, to foster the battery ecosystem in Europe.
Through this agreement, Dassault Systèmes and Vercor will accelerate the development of lithium-ion batteries and the first gigafactory, and contribute to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 by fostering a battery ecosystem in Europe.
The two companies will establish best practices across all products and processes virtually to drive innovation and efficiency, and mitigate technical risks throughout the product lifecycle.
In this process, Dassault Systèmes' 3D experience platform and innovative knowledge and know-how across high-tech, transportation, energy and material industries are expected to play a key role in establishing new methodologies for sustainable innovation in areas such as product, process, flow simulation, supplier collaboration and total quality management.
Vercor plans to build its first Gigafactory in Dunkirk, France, and will benefit from long-term support from Dassault Systèmes’ technology team, leveraging their expertise in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to achieve unprecedented levels of virtualization.
Also Dassault Systèmes We plan to build batteries, manufacturing processes, and gigafactory operations using virtual twins of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The first Verkor Gigafactory will produce low-carbon battery cells to support Europe’s net zero goals and form a value chain for customers and solutions in the European battery market.
Verkor will introduce Dassault Systèmes' 'High Performance Battery' and 'High-Tech Smart Factory' industry solutions based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to perform seamless collaboration, modeling, and simulation in a single virtual environment.
“By leveraging Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Verkor can respond to all issues that arise throughout the product life cycle,” said Christober Raj, Head of Digital at Verkor. “This collaboration will enable Verkor to drive continuous digital innovation and lead the European battery market through the development of future technologies.”
“Batteries are a key industry for a sustainable Europe,” said Stephane Sireau, Vice President, Global High Tech at Dassault Systèmes. “Our 3DEXPERIENCE platform and battery solutions are driving battery innovation, from defining battery chemistry to designing and engineering state-of-the-art gigafactories.”
He also emphasized, “As Verkor leads the industry with the Gigafactory project, Dassault Systèmes will support the virtual twin experience to accelerate the development of high-performance battery cells and production innovation.”
