Strengthening the digital control tower… Discussion on fostering new businesses
Improving public services such as public DX and transportation DX
KT has decided to cooperate with Mongolia to promote DX projects at a national level.
KT announced on the 17th that it held a final report meeting on Mongolia's national digital transformation (DX) consulting for key executives of the Mongolian Ministry of Digital Development and Communications at the National Assembly building in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
KT and the Mongolian government have been jointly conducting research on DX at the national level in Mongolia for the past 10 weeks.
At this presentation, KT discussed the strategy to foster new growth engines based on strengthening the role of the digital control tower proposed to the Mongolian government. We predicted the implementation plans and expected effects of priority tasks such as tourism DX, agriculture DX, and advancement of e-government services.
KT and the Mongolian government will cooperate in tasks such as strengthening the control tower role of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, fostering new national growth engines such as tourism DX and agriculture DX, improving e-government services (public DX), and introducing intelligent traffic control (traffic DX) to improve public services and infrastructure.
Mongolia, which is pursuing industrial diversification to reorganize its industrial structure that is heavily focused on mining, enacted the ‘Digital National Plan’ last year and established the Ministry of Digital Affairs as the government department in charge of promoting it.
“We understand that national digital transformation is the foundation of economic development, and the results of this consulting will be of great help to the Mongolian government in making future DX-related policy decisions,” said Erkhembaatar Jargaltsengel, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs of Mongolia. “We expect that through collaboration with KT, we will be able to accelerate the pace of DX.”
KT’s Shin Soo-jung, head of the Enterprise Division, said, “We support the Mongolian government’s efforts to improve the overall constitution of the country based on DX,” and “We will strive to support the implementation of tasks derived from consulting on establishing Mongolia’s national DX strategy.”
