Rockwell Automation will collaborate with MakinaRocks, an AI company, to rapidly introduce AI solutions to industrial automation and build manufacturing innovation cases.
Rockwell Automation announced on the 31st that it has entered into a strategic partnership with enterprise AI company MakinaRocks to develop industrial AI.
MakinaRocks provides AI solutions specialized for the manufacturing industry and a machine learning operation platform that helps to stably maintain and manage machine learning models. Last year, MakinaRocks was named one of the 'Top 100 AI Companies in the World' by CB Insights, a global market research firm.
Through this business agreement, Rockwell Automation will collaborate with MakinaRocks to rapidly introduce AI solutions to the industrial automation field and build manufacturing innovation cases.
Rockwell Automation plans to support MakinaRocks’ market expansion and new business initiatives by connecting MakinaRocks’ solutions with its programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and software solutions for industrial automation, and the two companies will closely share expert advice and information on new technologies in the field of industrial AI.
MakinaRocks CEO Seong-ho Yoon said, “We hope to quickly establish domestic manufacturing innovation cases by combining Rockwell Automation’s global leadership in industrial automation with MakinaRocks’ AI solutions,” adding, “Through this collaboration, manufacturing companies will be able to achieve all-round goals such as increased productivity, reduced shutdowns (temporary business suspensions) through predictive maintenance, easy development and management of machine learning models, and reduced production costs.”
“In the manufacturing sector, the number of companies trying to introduce AI and machine learning solutions to quickly achieve digital transformation is increasing,” said Lee Yong-ha, CEO of Rockwell Automation Korea. “In order to be competitive in the industrial automation field, introducing AI solutions is no longer an option but a necessity,” he said. “In the future, Rockwell Automation will continue to work to develop industrial AI technologies based on its specialized industrial automation solutions and know-how.”
Meanwhile, Rockwell Automation is supporting manufacturing companies in designing and developing industrial automation by introducing artificial intelligence technologies such as generative AI.
