Gateway for Smart Manufacturing Remote Edge Networks
ADLINK unveiled the high-performance, low-power 'MXA-200 Arm-based 5G IIoT Gateway'.
ADLINK Technology today announced the launch of its new MXA-200 Arm-based 5G IIoT gateway featuring the 1.6GHz NXP i.MX 8M Plus quad Arm Cortex-A53 processor.
The 'MXA-200 5G IIoT Gateway' delivers high performance with low power consumption. It is bundled in a rugged fanless package with an external heatsink option and offers wireless options for Bluetooth, wireless LAN, 4G, and 5G.
“The MXA-200 is an ideal choice for remote edge networks in smart manufacturing, renewable energy, and smart city applications,” said ADLINK, a global leader in edge computing and a global supplier of industrial PCs and motherboards.
The MXA-200 Arm-based 5G IIoT gateway features a 1.6GHz NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor with 4x Arm Cortex-A53 cores. It can provide high performance while keeping power consumption as low as possible.
NXP i.MX 8M delivers high-performance graphics, virtualization, and security for AI, graphics, and industrial applications with a product life cycle of 10 to 15 years. It features high-efficiency computing with 64-bit Quad Cortex-A53, supports AI with integrated NPU 2.3 TOPS, and is protected by TPM 2.0 for data security.
The MXA-200 provides everything you need to manage edge devices across remote remote networks. It offers comprehensive operating system support for Debian 11, Yocto, and Windows 10 IoT, reducing development time and costs. Hardware integration through mounting options such as DIN rail and wall mounting simplifies installation into machines and control cabinets.
“IIoT gateways bridge the gap between OT personnel handling hardware and settings in the field, and IT personnel managing the increasingly critical and complex software backend remotely,” said Taita Chou, Senior Product Manager of ADLINK’s Edge Computing Platform BU. “On the OT side, the MXA-200 provides machine maintenance and production process engineers with connectivity to a wealth of industrial sensors, PLCs and peripherals, such as RS-232/422/485 for electrical connections, and faster connectivity such as USB 3.0 for high-speed cameras. On the IT side, MES and software engineers who primarily use C#, Python, RESTful APIs and web services can gain powerful remote access capabilities via wireless communications such as Bluetooth, wireless LAN, 4G and 5G.”
