Discussion on the prospects and application plans for generative AI and humanoid industries
Global Robotics Market to Reach $119.69 Billion by 2030

As demand for AI robots surges, the Korea Institute of Future Technology Education discusses the changes generative AI and humanoids will bring to industry.

The Korea Institute for Future Technology Education announced that it will hold a seminar titled “Innovative Technology and Industrial Applications for AI Robot/Humanoid Development - Changes Generative AI and Humanoids Will Bring to Industry” both online and offline at the Garnet Hall in the Federation of Korean Industries building in Yeouido, Seoul on June 27.

Recently, robot technology has advanced based on generative AI technology, and humanoid robots, which are human-shaped robots, are appearing one after another in industrial sites, and demand is rapidly increasing. The government has also selected the robot industry as a national cutting-edge industry to be fostered, and announced a plan to invest more than 3 trillion won by 2030.

The domestic robot market is expected to evolve from walking robots to humanoid robots. Major companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG, Hyundai Motors, Doosan Robotics, and Hanwha Robotics are already expanding their lineup to popularize humanoid robots, and driving and mobility companies are preparing to provide services using platforms that can be linked with robots.

According to market research firm SNS Insider, the global AI robot market was valued at $9.96 billion in 2022 and is expected to soar to $119.69 billion by 2030. Research and Markets recently forecasted in its report on the global service robot market outlook that the global service robot market will grow from USD 15.87 billion in 2022 to USD 187.33 billion by 2030.

This seminar hosted by the Korea Institute of Future Technology Education will present the following topics: △Changes in industry and market expansion plans due to the emergence of generative AI and AI robots, △AI metahumanoid (humanoid) robot development and interaction (HRI) application plans, △Learning methods for AI robots that assist with daily tasks, △Business model commercialization and verification, △Development technology and utilization plans for AI work robots capable of language and text instructions, △On-device AI HW/SW development technology and AI robot application plans, △Application plans for computer vision technology for AI robot autonomous driving, etc.

A researcher said, "The demand for robots is gradually increasing due to the spread of smart manufacturing and internalization of strategic industries around the world. It is predicted that new installations of industrial robots will be necessary due to the reorganization of the semiconductor, electric vehicle, and battery value chains." He added, "This seminar will be a place to present the most realistic and clear path for market survival and success by sharing information to lead the AI robot market."
