Mobile Cobot unveiled for the first time in Korea… Robot arm collaboration function and AMR mobility combined
Smart AMR can be implemented with 5G and generative AI… Increasing demand for AMR in the production sector
MiR (Mobile Industrial Robots) announced that it will provide a total solution to help companies automate material handling as the introduction of autonomous mobile robots (AMR) is increasing worldwide in core production areas.
Mir held a media briefing at the InterContinental Seoul Grand Hotel on the 12th to present Mir’s cutting-edge AMR portfolio and vision, as well as the latest AMR trends.
Mir is an AMR company that helps automate internal logistics management and optimize material management quickly, easily, and cost-effectively.
The media briefing held that day was attended by Kevin Dumas, Vice President of Mir Products, Poi Toong Tang, Vice President of Mir Asia Pacific Sales, and Jooyeon Lee, Director of Mir Korea Business.
We supply a wide range of AMRs with payloads ranging from 250 to 1,350 kg, from transporting small parts to transporting heavy loads.
In addition to the MiR250 and Mir Mobile Cobot, which can transport small and medium-sized cargo, and the MiR600, MiR1350, and MiR1200 Pallet Jacks, which transport heavy cargo and pallets, the representative portfolio includes top modules such as MiR Lifts and accessories such as MiR Insight, which monitors the status of the robot.come.
The MiR1200 Pallet Jack is a model that applies advanced AI-based pallet detection capabilities powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin, and the Mobile Cobot is a model that combines the collaborative capabilities of a robotic arm with the mobility of an AMR.

Vice President Poi Tung Tang explained the ‘MiR1200 Pallet Jack’, saying, “It can identify pallets using 3D vision and pick up and transport pallets with unprecedented precision. It will revolutionize material handling with AI-based efficiency.”

Designed to integrate seamlessly with existing Mir AMRs and interoperate with Mir’s Deck Load AMRs, the MiR1200 pallet jack is ideally suited for larger enterprise customers that typically need to handle complex workflows with more robots across multiple sites.
Other models also perform object recognition and avoidance driving using AI functions. In particular, pallet jack models are more specialized for performing more complex tasks.
The 'Mobile Cobot', which combines the collaborative function of a robot arm and the mobility of an AMR, is a model that was first unveiled in Korea today.

The mobile cobot is a product built by pooling the capabilities of companies related to Teradyne Robotics, including Mir.
Mir's AMR-mounted mobile cobot, which features Universal Robots' collaborative joint robot, is currently in commercial use through some customers.
Vice President Kevin Dumas, who presented on 'AMR Trends', emphasized that "AMR adoption is increasing in core production areas worldwide" and "As 5G communication technology matures and generative AI enables smarter AMR implementation, demand for AMR is increasing in various industrial fields."

In fact, there is a growing number of companies around the world expanding from small to large-scale AMR adoption.AMRs are being deployed across the entire value chain, across multiple industries.
Accordingly, demands for reliability, quality, and scalability of AMR are also increasing.
Mir is a company with the expertise necessary to safely and stably operate large-scale AMRs in line with these changes in the AMR industry.
We have sold over 9,000 robots worldwide, have organized large-scale R&D and technical support, and have a large number of application engineers who support successful AMR construction.
Additionally, Mir’s cutting-edge AMR platform enables extensive AMR control with a single, easy-to-use software. Mir is also making continuous investments in robotics hardware and software.
For this purpose, we are also operating a global partner ecosystem, MiRGo.
In addition, we have a complete end-to-end solution to ensure close support and service across the globe, and we also have a customer support system through online training and technical materials.
Mir Korea Business Director Lee Ju-yeon explained the necessity and growth potential of AMR in the Korean market.

Currently, Korean society is experiencing drastic structural changes, such as an increase in the minimum wage, a decrease in working hours, and intensifying competition.
Accordingly, the manufacturing industry is required to respond to these changes and to increasingly fierce global competition.
AMR is one of the most important solutions for innovation in this manufacturing sector.
Accordingly, Mir is also providing expensive, high-end AMR products through lease in line with the Korean manufacturing industry, which is dominated by small and medium-sized companies.
Together with global financial partners, we have established a long-term lease solution of 3 years or more for Korean small and medium-sized enterprises.
“We will tailor our message to local needs and preferences while addressing unique Korean factors such as market challenges and the push for automation,” said Director Lee Ju-yeon. “By strategically delivering these messages, our campaign will solidify Mir’s position as an industry leader and increase brand visibility and media exposure.” “We aim to increase intimacy while demonstrating our ability to meet the unique needs of the Korean market,” he emphasized.
